Thai Yoga Massage
Thai yoga massage has been taught and practiced in Thailand for over 2500 years. Based in the philosophy of Metta (loving-kindness), blending aspects of Hatha yoga, shiatsu and reflexology, Thai yoga massage incorporates tai chi, gentle yoga movements and massage into a profound healing method which leaves you feeling deeply relaxed and filled with energy.
According to Ayurvedic science, it is believed there are 72, 000 energy lines running throughout the body. Massaging and stretching this network of energy lines, Thai yoga massage releases tension, allows energy to flow more freely and helps alleviate problems such as lower back pain, arthritis, headaches, digestive difficulties, tight muscles, and stress-related conditions.
The therapist uses hands, feet and elbows to apply pressure to important points along the sen energy lines and releases blocked energy while freeing the body's own natural healing potential helping to restore balance, health and harmony.
Thai yoga massage is practiced while the client is fully clothed (in comfortable, stretchy material), on a cushioned floor and without oil. Please refrain from eating a heavy meal 2-3 hours before your massage and make sure to drink lots of water after the massage to flush out the toxins released during the massage.
